Dreamhome by David Bateman

Success is where we are:
tiptoeing narrowly
between appliances
we worked our lives for.
If we should make love,
we are as careful
as bomb disposal,
not disturbing the appliances
When we go out,
we check in hourly,
keep in touch with the appliance
that minds the appliances.
At the office each day,
I wear success like a badge
with a bold, uplifting slogan
as I work for the appliances
I drive success
like a fast car
back home to my wife
and appliances
Success is where we are,
and we whisper it softly
in the rooms of appliances
we worked our lives for.
