Dan, Dan, The Acorn Man by Philip Burton

How do you conceal eight grains of wheat?
Stick them to an acorn. Two for the eyes,
Two for the ears. One for the mouth.
One for the nose. Two for the feet.
Where do you hide an acorn man? Under an oak leaf.
Secrete the leaf (and the acorn man) under a house.
Hide this abode in a no through road.
Stow this road in Stow-on-the-Wold.
Few folk go to Stow-on-the-Wold.
Few folk know Stow-on-the-Wold
so few folk know if Stow-on-the-Wold
has such a thing as a no through road
or a house with a leaf underneath
or a leaf with an acorn man below.
In fact you’re the only one I’ve told
about the acorn man I stowed-on-the-Wold
when I was all of eight years old.
