Notes from the Curator of Edition 25

I was delighted to be asked to Curate one edition of the Worktown Words. My psychologically inclined daughter suggested ‘Second Chance’ as a theme which resonated immediately with my favourite, most talismanic line of poetry, which gently offers sustaining light in the midst of darkness: “ These fragments I have shored against my ruins.” (Eliot)

It has been a pleasure to read so many moving, witty and inventive entries all testifying to the sustaining power of language and the enduring power of a ‘Second Chance.’
Thank you to everyone who has contributed so thoughtfully and with such energy. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all your work. Good luck with your writing!
Many thanks.
